Today was a very tiring day and I did not feel like a bump shot, so here is an 'unconventional' one that the hubs took of me during our weekend date :)
How far along: 27 weeks! According to some sources, I am now in my third trimester, while other say that it is the last week of my second.
Baby is the size of a: Rutabaga. What is a rutabaga?
Maternity clothes: I spent my gift cards on two tops (much to the hubs constant persistence). Still waiting for them to arrive in the mail.
Food cravings: Nope. I really have not had any cravings at all during this pregnancy.
Anything make you queasy or sick: Not at all.
Miss anything: The fact that when the hubs texts me and says for me to just pick something up for myself on my way home for dinner, that I cannot stop by Jersey Mike's or some other sub shop and pick up a turkey sandwich. We joke that as soon as I give birth, the first thing I am going to want is a big turkey sub and a Pepsi.
Have you started to show yet: Yesterday (when I couldn't stop at Jersey Mike's) I ended up going to Olive Garden and getting a to-go meal. I asked the waitress if I could have a bread stick or two thrown in. A lady in the waiting area came up to me afterwards and said, "The baby wants a bread stick?" I guess I am officially showing to the outside public. Side note- I did NOT get any bread sticks. Big disappointment.
Weight gain: Oh boy- brace yourself: 22 pounds! I was a little shocked to hear that at my appointment on Friday! I gained 9 pounds in the last month. Can you say holidays? Besides my bump, I have no idea where all this weight has gone, because I don't notice a difference anywhere else. I am sure after he is born it will be more noticeable ;) The doctor said my weight is normal, which was a relief.
Boy or Girl: Boy! So excited to meet him :)
Movement: He is back to his energetic self this week, and is getting more powerful! I love it when Justin gets up close to my belly and talks to him. On Monday night, he did just that and the babe loved hearing his daddy's voice. He kept kicking and moving every time Justin spoke to him. It melted my heart a little :)
Best moment this week: Having a perfect Biltmore getaway with Justin. I was able to relax and spend some quality time with the hubs. I will [hopefully] blog about it soon. AND... my little brother got engaged! His wedding date is set for early May, which means...... our little man has his first wedding already scheduled! It is so exciting and a little scary to think about attending a wedding and traveling with a 3 week old. I do like the fact that I will be on maternity leave and will not have to "take" any days off!
Worst moment this week: I've had a student that has been testing me lately which is not very fun. And, yesterday I was guilty in pulling the 'baby-card' on him to see if he would ease up a bit. It worked, because he did lighten up. We also took down our Christmas tree.
Best kid comment about the baby this week: I think my class has forgotten that I am pregnant.
Other tidbits: It has definitely been a baby-filled week. We officially registered this past weekend. There are still a few items on the list that we need to add, but for the most part it is done! Baby showers are also in the works of being planned- which I am super excited about! I had a doctor's appointment on Friday and everything went great. I think I passed my glucose test since I have not heard anything back from the office. I also met with the HR person to discuss my maternity leave and have it [basically] in place and ready to go. Now it's time to start interviewing for subs. Justin has started applying to new jobs, which will hopefully get the ball rolling of us knowing a little bit more about our living situation in the next couple of months. I do have all the nursery furniture and bedding picked out. Nothing has still been ordered or organized yet since we are still in our one bedroom place.
How have I been feeling: Great! I love feeling him move. I hear people complain about how the baby moves so much and it might be painful, and I am sure that soon his movements will start hurting, but I love feeling him and knowing that he is alive and well in there :)
Looking forward to: Is it too early to say my baby showers?!?
