34 weeks!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss
The little man and I went to school dressed up as a Star-Bellied Sneech

How far along: 34 weeks, 3 days! Can you believe that we are in MARCH?!? I can officially say that I am having a baby next month! Although, he may grace us with his presence at the end of this month!
Baby is the size of a: butternut squash.
Maternity clothes: I don't think I'll be buying much from here on out. I'm going to try to make due with what I have!
Food cravings: Shamrock shake- although this may purely be me giving in to McDonald's marketing schemes. I drive past a billboard everyday with a picture of a shamrock shake and I finally gave in and got one after my doctor's appointment today. Little man likes it too because he has been squirming about!
Anything make you queasy or sick: Some smells are starting to trigger me, just like in the first trimester, but not nearly as bad. Again- it is fish sandwich day at school.
Miss anything: Bending over and putting on socks or tying my shoes with no problem.
Boy or Girl: Handsome little man!
Movement: I thought he was a little more quiet this week. I don't know if he is as snug as a bug in there and just hasn't felt the need to move around as much. Although, every time I go to the doctor, they always comment on how active he is. He is definitely most active once I get home from school and can sit down and relax.
Best moment this week: Having my little sister, STEPHANIE, from college come down south for a couple of days! She had a break from school and was able to come back home :) I really do miss her so very much while she is away so I loved getting to see her and spend time with her. [Was that a big enough shout out Steph? ;) Jk!] My co-workers also threw me a baby shower yesterday and it was so very special and sweet of them :)
Worst moment this week: On Wednesday, I slipped on some ice in the parking lot and did a nice figure skating move and landed on one knee. Thankfully I did not have a huge wipe out and I thought everything was okay. Well news spreads fast at my school and pretty soon I had 10 people coming up, hearing that I fell and asked if I had called my doctor. My principal insisted that I go to Urgent Care to get it checked out for Worker's Comp. I went to Urgent Care after school and they told me they did not have a doppler or any way to check on the baby and that I would have to be checked out there first and then go to the ER. Let's just say I walked out without even seeing a doctor.
How have I been feeling: Besides feeling very large and that it is harder to move around and do normal activities (like tie my shoes and put on socks) I have been feeling very good. I have been tired when I get home from school but that is a given. I no longer have the pains that I had last week, which I am thankful for.
Other tidbits:

  • My potassium was still low, so I had to take a couple potassium re-charge pills this week. They were huge!
  • I really like having my to-do list and crossing things off! It has really helped me feel like I am getting more prepared for this babe. Things we crossed off this week:
    • Chose a pediatrician and called them up.
    • Scheduled a hospital tour- March 11th!
    • Pre-registered online for the hospital.
    • Wrote our birth plan (thanks for the help birthing instructor mom!)
    • Finished thank-you notes from shower #1 [almost I have two left and we need to buy stamps so not all of them are mailed out yet].
  • Doctor appointment went well today. Babe had a good heart  beat and still measuring right on target.
  • Our diaper supply and wipe stock pile are growing, thanks to my co-workers!
  • We might be ordering the rest of the baby room furniture soon!
  • I call it the baby room because Justin hates the word: nursery.
  • With the many sick days and other days I have had to take off, it looks like I might be having to go back to school for the last week of school :( Still have to crunch some numbers before them and I am praying that I will earn more days to cover those last days.
Looking forward to: Going to Ohio on Friday and our baby shower on Saturday!
