10 months. Where has time gone? My mom is in denial with the fact that I will be turning ONE in just two short months. This month has been the month of teeth and movement. I got not just one, two or three more new teeth but FOUR! That is right, I now have 5 teeth with the sixth one probably coming in soon. My two front teeth on the top have a gap in the middle (at least it appears that way- they are still growing in) and it cracks my mom up. She thinks I look so cute and my daddy says it gives me character. With the new set of mouth tools, I am now eating a lot more table and finger foods. At first I did not like picking up slimey textures, but my mom is pretty persistent in giving me foods over and over again and I am starting to like them more.
This month I also started officially crawling on my hands and knees. My mom thought that I was just going to be an army crawling baby because I had gotten so good at it and I preferred it over crawling. One day we were even Skyping with my Nana and Grandpa and my mom said that she thought I would never crawl on all fours. Well mom, I proved you wrong. That same exact day, I got up on all fours and have not gone down ;) I have become quite the speedster crawler! I still enjoy climbing up and standing on all the furniture. I have started cruising along the couch and the coffee table. I can also climb up the stairs. I have become more daring and will let go of my support and try to stand on my own, but I am not quite there and kind of plunk down!
This month has been a busy month filled with lots of exciting things. Here are some things that I have been up to:
- New foods: Whole wheat bread, French toast, cheese quesadilla, waffles, mozzarella cheese, cheese tortellini, turkey, Cheerios, beef, grilled cheese, pancakes, pineapple, banana bread, pasta, and more things that it's hard to keep track! I am starting to eat more 'meals' that mom and dad are eating.
- I got a new ride: a motorcycle!
- In the morning I have fun playing with my shadow.
- Mom and Dad had me go through sleep training once again. With all the traveling and chaotic schedules we have been on for the past few months, my sleep got really bad again. Well, I actually think it was fine. I don't see any problem with sleeping in mom and dad's bed, waking up several (5-6) times throughout the night and having to be held/rocked to sleep- but mom and dad thought otherwise. Thank the Lord that I can now fall asleep by myself, sleep around 12 hours and wake up only around 5:00am to eat.
- Mommy has started thinking about/ planning my 1st birthday. It is crazy that it is only TWO months away!
- I went to the zoo for the first time! My family got zoo passes as a Christmas present so we will be going a lot this year!
- I went to the Children's Museum for the first time! We were also gifted with memberships for Christmas so I am excited to go often. My Aunt Jen went with my mom and I the first time. My favorite thing to do: play the little piano!
- There was this freak snow storm down here in Georgia. It was my second time seeing snow and my first time actually going outside and playing in it. Mommy and I had a snowball fight against Daddy!
- There was also an ice storm and we were trapped inside for a couple more days.
- I started going to Sunday School! I love it and I come home with a new toy every week that corresponds to the lesson.
fishers of men lesson.
- I got a new doctor.
- I also finally got around to getting my first toothbrush and now brush my teeth everyday.
- Taking a bath is one of my new favorite things. I love splashing, playing in my toys, laying on my belly and kicking and looking at my reflection in the faucet.
- My hair has officially fallen flat :( I just have too much hair now that it no longer sticks straight up. What a sad day.
- I got my first pair of shoes!
- My have three new top teeth making my tooth count 5!!
- I love playing peek-a-boo! If I have a blanket or pillow I will initiate playing it!
- I also love playing hide-and-go- seek with mommy and daddy. They will hide around the corner or on the stairs and say, "Zach. Where's daddy?" I will listen to their voices and crawl and find them. When I do find them I laugh! If I hear their voice on the other side of the couch, I will lie down on my belly and look under the couch for them.
- Mommy and I went to our first Mom's Club meeting and we are joining the club!
- Celebrated my first Valentine's Day!
- I have definitely become very attached to my mommy. If I am not in the same room as her, I will try to open the door or climb the stairs to find her. I will also climb up her leg and cling on to her.
- I can clap my hands if you sing, "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands."
- I have consistently started crawling on my hands and knees and boy can I move. My mommy thought that I was always going to do the army crawl, but I proved her wrong and I am up on my hands and knees!

A Note from Mom:
My sweet baby boy, it is amazing that you are only two month away from being one year old. A year ago, your daddy and I were being showered with gifts for you. You have blessed our lives more than we could have ever expected. You continue to be the sweetest, most easy going and friendly little boy. You are growing up so much, with crawling, climbing stairs, getting into everything. You definitely keep me on my toes, and some days I wish I could just kick my feet up and watch a tv show for 20 minutes, but then I see your smile or hear you say, "Ma" and there is no where else I would want to be then sitting right next to you, banging on your drum or taking the animals out of your Noah's ark. I love how you crawl over to me and climb up on my leg when I am cooking or washing dishes and you want to be held, or how you search for me in the room and seek out to find me if I am not there. I know that there will come a time very soon when you will be all about dad, and so I treasure this time that you want mom :)
I love you, my little Doodle Bug <3
