Wow! This blog post is way overdue! Zach turned 8 months about 2 weeks ago, but things have been a little busy here to say the least. We are in the process of relocating to Atlanta! In between traveling down there for interviews, driving up to Ohio for Thanksgiving, then back down to Atlanta to find a place to live and Christmas festivities, life has been VERY busy! This has been a very busy month for Zach! He is eating more 'real' food and is even working on his pincher grasp so that he can have more regular chunks of food. He is able to sit up by himself from a laying down position and can get up on his knees! He did catch a cold while up in Ohio and spent most of this past month fighting it off. Between that, teething and all the traveling, his sleep is all messed up, and so is ours! Even with all the chaos around, he is still our happy, little smiley boy who knows that he is very loved.
Here is what we have been up to in our very busy month:
- I am continuing to expand my food palate. This month I added: apples [applesauce]. pears, mango, peaches, puffs, strawberries, corn.
What am I suppose to do with these? Mommy says I'm working on my pincher grasp but I have no idea what that is.
- Made the road trip up to Ohio once again! I am becoming quite the expert road tripper!
watching mommy pack
- Dr. Seuss books are still some of my favorite books! I like them so much that one day I dressed up as Thing One ;)
- I saw snow for the first time! I loved it and was so intrigued by it! [11.27.13]
check out the snow in my hair!
- I now have two teeth! [11.26.13]
- Celebrated in my first Thanksgiving!
- I celebrated it with my daddy's side of the family... and..
Gramma gave me my Christmas present early!
- My mommy's side of the family! Although mommy has meant to blog about Thanksgiving for some time now and has not gotten around to it- when she does, there will be a lot more pictures!
- I found out that my cousin who will be born in March will be another girl!
uncle david. aunt kim and emma!
- I also found out that I will have another new baby cousin arriving in July- maybe this one will be a boy! Make that 5 grandbabies for my grandpa and nana!
- Had some Christmas fun at the Biltmore
- Went and checked out all the gingerbread houses at the National Gingerbread House Competition at the Grove Park Inn! My favorite part was tugging on the fences blocking the gingerbread houses.
- I can now drink out of a sippy cup! Daddy said it is the most grown up thing that I have done for him so far!
- I sat in the shopping cart for the first time! Mommy said she was putting it off as long as possible. And being my unique self- did I like sitting the 'normal' way? No! I kept turning around and looking to see what was inside the cart ;)
- I can now get into the sitting position from lying down all by myself!
- I have been pretty much sick with a cold this entire month. It has not been the most fun month for me or for my parents but I am still a happy little boy!
- I decorated my first Christmas tree with mommy and daddy! It was probably one of the best days of my life. I LOVED playing with the lights and seeing all the ornaments. I was so excited the entire time! I am looking forward to celebrating my first Christmas!
- Some of my new favorite activities are looking/napping near the Christmas tree, playing with my empty toy basket and playing with tupperware containers.
- I made several trips down to Atlanta and that is why mommy posted this blog so late! We are in the process of moving down there so things have been very busy!

A Note from Mom:
My sweet little boy,
You continue to grow and reach new milestones that make you so grown up. You started this month with another tooth! You have the cutest little two-toothed smile I have ever seen! You have learned to sit up all by yourself and get up on your knees. These two things are a lot of fun and make play time a little more fun and independent for you. Although, it does pose a problem sometime in the middle of the night when you sit yourself up and don't really know how you got there or how to lay back down. You still army crawl all over the place are are quite fast at it. This month we have begun to see your will come out. You definitely make it known when you are unsatisfied with something. We are trying to teach you the word 'no' and train you in a godly way. We pray for wisdom everyday and that we can train you the right way. We pray that you will become a man after God's own heart. You are such a joy and blessing to our lives. I hope you enjoy your last month as a Tar-Heel because next month you will begin a new chapter of your life as a Georgia Peach, and life will hopefully slow down more, and you can get back to your regular routine [and sleeping once again!- one can hope and certainly pray!]
This month has been particularly fun watching you celebrate some of your first holidays and get ready for Christmas. You LOVE the Christmas lights and the ornaments. You enjoy feeling the needles of the tree and touching certain ornaments. I was so excited about your first Christmas that I made you 4, yes, 4 first Christmas ornaments!
We love you very much, sweet Zach, and are so blessed to be your parents.
Love, Mommy and Daddy
